Undergraduate Programmes: Regarding
the number of students intake, the University makes a plan, which
is submitted to the National Admission Office of the Ministry of
Higher Education and Scientific Research, who is responsible for
admitting students to all national universities. Nomination of
students, through the admission office, come from four sources viz;
National Pool, Least Developed States, Government sponsored
(mature) intake and self sponsored students.

Other Programmes: Admission
requirements for certificates, diploma and other post graduate
studies are specified under their respective Colleges, Centres and
Directorates.

Admission Requirements:Minimum
admission requirements to all the colleges of the University is
Sudan School Certificate or its equivalent and the aggregate for
competition, counted as a percentage of passes in seven subjects
all obtained at one and the same sitting, or as determined by the
National Higher Education Admission Committee. For all colleges
of the university, a candidate must have at least pass in Arabic,
English, Religious Studies and Elementary Mathematics. In addition
to these four subjects, three subjects are required for
calculating competition aggregate. For the Colleges of Medicine
and Applied Industrial Sciences the three subjects are Biology,
Physics, and Chemistry. For the College of Natural Resources and
Environmental Studies the three subjects include the best three
out of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Environmental Studies. For
Arts Colleges the three subjects are taken as the best out of
History, Geography, Biology, English Literature, Physics and
Environmental Studies.

Procedure:The
National Admission Office in July / August of each year makes
available the application forms for admission to all national
Universities. Admission forms, supplied by this Office (LS 2500
per copy) are required to be returned after due filling
accompanied with the original copies of certificates. Non-Sudanese
certificates are to be endorsed by the respective Sudanese
Embassies abroad. The result of the admission is announced by the
Admission Office and is sent to the various national Universities.
