Higher Education Institutions can play a major role in disseminating the culture of peace, spirit of tolerance and peaceful-coexistence, facilitating social interaction, guidance and supervision of development and good governance. However, these institutions can not fully carry out their roles in the absence of academic freedom and university autonomy. Taking into consideration this fact, the University of Juba in collaboration with the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa organizes a conference on: Academic Freedom and University Autonomy in Post-conflict Sudan. The proposed conference will bring together all Sudanese universities’ staff, researchers, policy makers, and students and other actors to deliberate and critically engage on key issues and areas of common concern. The organizers of the Conference call for abstracts on the mentioned themes. Those papers on areas related to the theme of the conference will be considered depending on their quality. Conference language is Arabic and English.
